Lamb Kofta Burgers

Lamb Kofta but make it burgers!

Lamb Kofta is a family favorite and I’m always looking for new ways to serve it. I turned my recipe into burgers this weekend and they were a major hit.

This makes six burgers which was enough to serve four adults since two people went back for seconds!

Lamb Kofta Burgers

1 medium onion, roughly chopped
2 garlic cloves
1 1/2 pounds ground lamb
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp chile powder
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp pepper

To serve:
6 buns
Feta cheese
Pickled shallots (or onions of choice)
Persian cucumbers
Tzatziki

Place onion and garlic in a food processor and pulse until onion is finely chopped. Add 1/3 of the lamb, spices, salt and pepper and process until combined. Place mixture in a large bowl and add remaining lamb. Mix until combined (I use my hands for this bit). Shape into six patties and cook in a pan or on the grill to desired doneness.

I serve these burger bar style - gather all the toppings on a tray in the center of the table. Serve everyone a burger in a bun and let them build their own burgers.
